Moscow school wins national award for being healthy

"This award has high standards for nutrition," said Director of Student Nutrition Services Mimi Pengilly. "It means that the school meals meet higher than the basic standards."School officials said the district sets high standards on its nutrition and health programs and that providing a healthy environment for kids is a community effort. "I think all communities have some efforts going on, but I think Moscow is pretty unique," said Moscow School District Superintendent Dale Kleinert. "With Moscow's Farmer's Market, we've got fresh fruits and vegetables. We've got bike paths everywhere and it has just been a big effort within the community."Challenge officials will visit the school this fall to present the award.More to ExplorePot possession to cost Willie Nelson $787Elephant kills man during city rampage in IndiaMessage in a bottle makes trans-Atlantic journey Watch the storyMel Gibson's ex files appeal over lawyervar idcomments_acct = "e22d7941734a7c5eb8d18118153be0a6";var idcomments_post_id = "klewtv/123520839";var idcomments_post_url= "http://www.
