Day care, nutrition store join local lineup

Marybeth Vintges just opened Children's Coop in Keys March 1, but her story begins much earlier. After the birth of her first child, Vintges decided to push her aspirations to enter the medical field aside when she realized she had another calling: child care. She couldn't bear the idea of putting her own kids in a day care center, so she decided to open one herself.For 3-1/2 years, Vintges ran a home day care at her house in Tahlequah. That's when she realized some expansion was in order, and opened Children's Coop."I fell in love with it," Vintges said. "Once I opened this, I realized this is what I was made to do. It will be my forever career."Vintges said the birth of her three children gave her a boost of confidence to start a day care, but she's always been good with kids.
