Fit cherries into your diet


While you may not be able to find fresh cherries in the market, there are still a plethora of options to fill your need for the nutrition of cherries in your diet. You will find canned cherries both sweet and tart, frozen cherries, dried cherries and cherry juice. I usually have all four forms available because I love the flavor and appreciate the nutrition they provide.Cherries are high in potassium which makes them good for maintaining healthy blood pressure, aiding digestion and helping aching muscles recover from intense exercise. They are also considered a tasty way to prevent gout symptoms and ease the pain of arthritis.I am a fan of tart cherry juice concentrate and enjoy a glass of one ounce of concentrate to eight ounces of water or other liquid daily. One of my favorite afternoon refreshments is a glass of limeade with an ounce of cherry juice concentrate for delicious cherry limeade.
