Sparks Nutrition Counseling Center Holds First Open House

In response to the health complications caused by poor diet and and no exercise, Sparks Health System created the Sparks Nutrition Counseling Center last fall next to the Marvin Altman Fitness Center.Registered dietitians at 818 Lexington Ave. will host their first open house event 4-6 p.m. Wednesday with the program “Bite Into A Healthy Lifestyle” in recognition of March as National Nutrition Month. The counseling center has one registered dietitian and one nutrition education coordinator. Five dietitians from Sparks Regional Medical Center will also be at the event.Free personal nutrition consultations will be provided by the dietitians on Wednesday. There will be activities for children and information on children’s nutritional needs. Healthy snacks and door prizes will also be provided.
