My nine year-old is shrieking in indignation as I shove forkfuls of spinach onto my plate like a demented Wurzel. âYou canât eat all that! Youâre on a diet, Mummy! Stop her, DaddyâI think itâs the spicy monkfish and haddock stew that sheâs most concerned about, bless her. It just looks far too delicious to be allowed. âDonât worry darling, Iâm not on a diet any more. Or indeed ever again,â I say soothingly. âI am embracing an eating and fitness plan that will transform the way I live. Would you like to know how?âObviously she doesnât. Nor does my husband who is superficially supportive but glazes over when I wax lyrical about Louise Parker, body whisperer, health guru and my new best friend for ever.I have begun her six-week plan to help me lose weight and reduce my biological age of 71 to my birth age of 51.
