Get away from that four-letter word: Diet

Get away from that four-letter word: Diet
The News Journal

For starters, get away from that four-letter word: Diet. Lots of individuals equate that word with deprivation, restriction and many other negative attributes.Instead, decide that youâre going to start taking better care of yourself by eating healthy. Itâs not about being on or off a diet; itâs about making an effort to eat better â most of the time.If an occasion occurs when you overeat or make unhealthy choices, get right back on track. All too often, people use âblowing itâ as a reason to quit. Weâre all human and none of us are perfect. Dust yourself off and get right back on the horse. If past weight loss attempts have included eliminating your favorite foods, toss that idea. That sets you up for a feeling of deprivation, which can lead to overeating.Allow yourself to indulge in small portions of your favorite treats now and again.
