Never mind Krispy Kreme's cruel April Fools' Day joke. Itâs time to embrace the doughnut chain again, thanks to some San Francisco flair. For a limited time, Krispy Kreme is offering Mint Chocolate and Sea Salt Caramel doughnuts. The best part: the chocolate is from San Francisco-based chocolatier Ghirardelli.If the flavors sound familiar, it's because they are based on the chocolate company's squares â which any good tourist visiting SF's famous Ghirardelli Square recognizes from the free samples handed out constantly.For a sugar overload, there's one option with salted caramel filling, dipped in chocolate icing and then drizzled with chocolate and caramel. If that's not enough, sprinkled on top is sugar, salt, and Ghirardelli mini chocolate chips. Say whaaaat?!The mintier option is filled with the pastry chain's signature "Kreme" (aka cream) filling with some mint mixed in.
